Hi there, I’m Chania, A Kenyan of Irish & English origin and a Mummy of 2 bare-footed little people, Billy & Zia. Having been blessed to have travelled the world since before I could walk to incredible places (33 countries and counting) and as an award-winning travel specialist with 30 years of experience in the travel industry. A little bit about me
In the past, I have spent hours, days, weeks and months visiting little accommodations, all alone, to see if they are good enough for our clients & which clients they would suit best …. Now with two feral safari-loving toddlers on board (and sometimes my husband), we go as a team ….. these business trips have become exciting, fun, memory-making family safaris, my ultimate passion…. That I can now share with you.
On Family
In my experience, kids love to be removed from their comfort zone, just for a little bit, to spend time with their treasured family; bonding as a family, chatting & giggling, learning & discovering, absorbing & acquiring incredible memories, meeting interesting people & making friends. As a result of this, I have built an entire business around helping families experience this very same thing! Come and collect memories with us … and things;o)!’ Contact me.
On work
In 1994, I started my travel career by working in hotels, small lodges and tented camps whilst studying Hotel Management at university; in 2003, I started promoting Kenya and Tanzania abroad; in the 13 years since I have broadened my horizons and my company, The SAFARI Company is now a leader in promoting travel throughout Africa and specialises in magnificent little game lodges, a safari tent, a beach villa or exquisite little farmhouses NOT larger hotel chains… as a result of their achievements, I am the proudest winner of two awards:

- East Africa’s Most Influential Woman in Tourism and Leisure 2016
